![]() ![]() The signature motif of gustatory receptors (GRs) is present but diverged in members of the Drosophila odorant receptor (DOR) gene family. Sequence alignments of the complete DOR and GR gene families reveal a common amino acid motif in the putative seventh transmembrane domain of the carboxyl terminus of all GRs and 33 DORs. The average identity in the C terminus is 29% for the GRs, 25% for the DORs, and 20% for the GRs plus DORs. Note: Image shows original names for GRs. Courtesy Anibal I. Cravchik Source: Cell |
