Genomics
is just plain cool. Sure, it's serious science, and it could revolutionize
medicine. But it's also about the unusual and the offbeat. Like
microbes that live in undersea vents, flies that don't sleep,
and zebras bred to look like quaggas. Or people with perfect pitch.
This issue of GNN includes some of our favorite stories about the lighter side of genomics and biology. We'll see you in 2003 with more stories about serious science and cool stuff.
